Informal Description

The 'textLength' property in this domain represents the number of codepoints in a plain-text resource. This is not (necessarily) representative of the number of bytes (data units) or characters (orthographic units) in the text resource, but specifically refers to the number of codepoints present in the resource.

The value of a textLength property should, of course, be an integer value as one cannot have a fractional codepoint.
